A residential quarter is being built near to Dresden’s railway station. It contains eight very different buildings, ranging from an urban villa to a high-rise building. A striking heritage-listed locomotive shed will be reactivated and given a new lease of life for commercial purposes. A total of 402 residential units will be built in the new quarter, many of them micro-apartments in order to meet the need for small residences in this university city. The contemporary design of the grey and white rendered facades includes large glazed areas with bronze openings. The high-rise building will stand out in the urban environment and become a landmark in the quarter.
